AddStride terms of service
Effective date: 2026-10-03 Version: 1.1
These terms apply between you and Swedtech Systems AB (organisation number 559477-0660, Fabriksvägen 2, 245 34 Staffanstorp, Sweden, "we") when you use the AddStride app and the services connected to it. By installing or using AddStride you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
Our privacy policy at https://addstride.com/privacy describes how we handle personal data and is part of these terms.
1. The service
AddStride is a motorcycle route planner and navigator for Android, and a web planner at https://app.addstride.com that works in a browser. Planning, navigation, ride recording, GPX import and export, trails and offline maps in the Android app are free and run on your phone. The web planner needs a sign-in and plans routes on our servers; it is free within daily limits (section 4a). The following are paid or metered:
- The AI route assistant, paid with AI credits.
- Cloud storage and sync of your routes, route collections, rides, POIs, trails, conversations and settings, included in the AddStride Plus subscription, with a limited free tier.
- Sharing a route or a route collection as a link or QR code and planning group rides, included in AddStride Plus. Anyone can open a shared route or collection, join a group ride and use the public route gallery.
Promo and invite codes (section 3a), shared routes, the route gallery and group rides (section 4b) and the public pages on https://app.addstride.com that these features link to are part of the service.
For the app you need an Android phone that meets its requirements, a Google account for purchases and enough storage for the map and routing data you download. For the web planner you need a modern browser.
2. Account
The Android app creates an AddStride account for you when you finish the introduction at the first start (or at the next start with an internet connection), and automatic cloud sync is switched on by default (you can switch it off in the introduction or later in the app). The account is tied to the phone. You can attach it to a Google or Apple sign-in, or make a recovery code, so it can be restored on a new phone. In the web planner you sign in with Google, Apple or an e-mail link; the same sign-in as in the app gives you the same account, and a sign-in the app has not used creates a new account. Keep the recovery code secret: anyone who has it can take over the account. We may refuse or close accounts that are created or used in breach of section 7.
3. AI credits
- Credits are units used to pay for assistant requests. The app shows an estimate per request before you send it and the exact cost after each request.
- New accounts created by the Android app receive a small number of free credits once. Accounts created by signing in on the web planner start with no free credits. We may change the size of these grants.
- You can earn fractions of a credit by watching rewarded ads, up to a daily cap. The reward and the cap may change with advertising revenue; the current values are shown in the app.
- You can buy credit packs through Google Play. The packs and their prices are shown in the app and in Google Play.
- Credits never expire. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred to another account or person, cannot be exchanged for money and are not refundable except as described in section 6.
- A request that starts with a positive balance is allowed to finish even if it takes the balance slightly below zero; the next request is refused until you have credits again.
- We may adjust a balance to correct an error or after a refund or chargeback, which can make it negative.
- Credits from promo codes and invites (section 3a) are AI credits like any other, and the rules above apply to them.
3a. Promo codes and invites
- Promo codes are handed out by us, by dealers, clubs and event organisers and by influencers. A code gives the credits shown on its page or in the app. You redeem it in the app with “Redeem a code”.
- Each offer can be redeemed once per rider: once per account, once per phone and once per linked sign-in. Several codes can belong to the same offer (for example one code for each dealer's stand); you then get the credits once, whichever code you use. Deleting your account and creating a new one does not let you redeem the same offer again.
- A code may have a start and an end date and a maximum number of redemptions, or work only within a set distance of a place (a dealer's stand or an event). A location-locked code needs location access and a real position; positions from mock-location apps are refused. We may end or switch off a code at any time; credits already granted stay.
- Every account has an invite code. When a new account (at most 7 days old) redeems your invite code, both accounts get the invite credits shown in the app. A phone or sign-in can be rewarded as an invited friend only once, your own invite code does not work on your own phone or sign-in, and each inviter can be rewarded a limited number of times per day and in total (shown in the app). We may change the reward and the limits, or end invites, for invites not yet redeemed.
- Redeeming a code may need a check by Google Play Integrity that the app is genuine and installed from Google Play.
- Codes and invites must not be sold, bought or traded, and must not be redeemed with several accounts, phones or emulators, a modified app or a faked position. We may refuse a redemption and remove credits obtained in breach of these rules (section 7).
- Codes are not a payment instrument and cannot be exchanged for money.
4. AddStride Plus subscription
- AddStride Plus is a subscription bought through Google Play. It includes a monthly grant of AI credits, cloud storage with sync, and navigation on a motorcycle dashboard or Android Auto screen (dashboard cast). Without Plus, the dashboard cast shows only the demo route. Dashboard types marked beta in the app have not been tested on every motorcycle and may not work on yours.
- Plans: monthly, six months and yearly. Prices are shown in the app and in Google Play before you buy.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel at any time in Google Play (Play Store › Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the benefits until the end of the period you have paid for.
- AddStride Plus also lifts the daily limits and the 600 km leg limit of the free web planner (section 4a) and lets you save routes to your library in the web planner and sync them to your phone. The subscription is bought through Google Play.
- Credits granted by the subscription are added once per subscription month (on the monthly anniversary for six-month and yearly plans) and are kept after cancellation.
- When the subscription ends, data saved while subscribed becomes read-only and remains downloadable for 12 months. New uploads follow the free-tier limits and access rules shown in the app. Data saved on the free tier is kept 30 days after the account was last used (an authenticated request to our servers, for example when the app starts or syncs or when you use the web planner; use without a connection does not count). After those periods the data is deleted from our servers. Data on your phone is not affected.
- Storage limits apply (50 MB on the free tier, 5 GB for subscribers). The app tells you when the limit is reached.
- If a payment fails, Google Play gives a grace period and then puts the subscription on hold. During hold, cloud sync follows the free-tier storage and access rules, and no subscription credits are granted until payment is restored.
- We may change subscription prices. Google Play notifies you before a price change applies to your renewal and you may cancel before it takes effect.
4a. Web planner
- The web planner is free within daily limits. Free accounts can plan 10 new routes, make 100 re-plans and export 5 GPX files per day, and legs longer than 600 km (straight line) need AddStride Plus. Saving routes to your library needs AddStride Plus. We may change these limits.
- The AI assistant in the web planner uses AI credits (section 3). Accounts created on the web start with no free credits.
- The web planner keeps your session in a cookie and your current plan in your browser, as described in the privacy policy.
4b. Shared routes, group rides and the route gallery
- Shared routes. With AddStride Plus you can share a library route as a link or QR code. The link works for 30 days. Anyone who has it can see the route, and anyone with the app can save a copy.
- Shared route collections. With AddStride Plus you can also share a route collection (up to 20 routes, with the POIs you added to it) as a link or QR code. The link works for 30 days. Anyone who has it can see the collection's name and its routes' names and lines on a public page, and anyone with the app can save a copy of the collection, its routes and POIs.
- Route gallery. Any rider can publish a library route to the public route gallery. Before your first publication you accept the rules in this section 4b and in section 10 (“I accept the rules for published routes in the terms of service”); we record which version you accepted and when. Before you confirm, the app shows exactly what will be published: a copy of the route without waypoint notes, import details and (unless you keep them) waypoint names, and, unless you switch it off, without the part near its start and finish (a round trip is published whole but starts and finishes on the far side of its loop). Everyone, also without an account, can see it on the web, and riders can rate it, save a copy, report it, report you as its publisher and block you so that your routes no longer appear for them. Your name is not shown with it. You can update it by publishing it again and remove it at any time with “Remove from gallery”; copies other riders have saved stay theirs.
- Gallery collections. You can publish a route collection to the gallery as a grouping, in your order, of routes you have already published there. Its name and description are public, and the rules in this section apply to it as to a route: riders can rate it, save a copy, report it and block you, and we may hide or delete it. Each route in it stays a published route under its own rules (privacy zone, ridden rule); a route you remove from the gallery, or that we hide, disappears from the collection. Removing a collection does not remove its routes.
- Ridden routes. You may publish only a route you have ridden yourself: the app sends a simplified copy of a ride you recorded along it, which we check and do not keep, and the route shows that its publisher rode it and in which month. Do not try to get around this check, for example with a made-up ride. When you ride a route you saved from the gallery, the app counts you once among the riders who rode it, without your name.
- Publisher roles. We may give partners (dealers, clubs or brands we work with), professional riders and guides, and dealers a publisher role. Their routes carry a badge (“Partner”, “Pro” or “Dealer”), they may publish routes they have not ridden, and a partner may show its name as the publisher of a route. A role is our decision; we may give, change or remove it at any time. A badge says who published a route, not that we checked or recommend it; partners are responsible for their routes as every other publisher is.
- Group rides. With AddStride Plus you can plan a group ride (a title, details, a meeting point, a time and a route, or a whole route collection for a ride of several days) and share it as a link or QR code; anyone can join. A group ride and its routes are deleted 30 days after it starts. A group ride is arranged by the rider who planned it, not by us; a ride shown with the name of a dealer or club is arranged by that dealer or club, and we only publish it for them. We do not check the route, the meeting point or the people taking part, and we are not responsible for whether a ride takes place or how it goes. Every rider who joins rides on their own responsibility: you decide whether the route, the pace and the conditions suit you and your motorcycle, you need a valid licence, insurance and a roadworthy motorcycle, you follow traffic law, and you are responsible for your own riding and for any arrangement you make with other riders. Section 8 applies to group-ride routes as to any other route.
- Content rules. What you share, publish or put in a group ride (route names, descriptions, waypoint names and notes, meeting points) must not be illegal; must not lead riders onto roads or tracks where motor traffic is forbidden, or that you know are private or closed; must not contain personal data about other people, such as their home address or name; must not be offensive, threatening, discriminatory or sexually explicit; and must not be advertising or spam or infringe the rights of others (for example trail data you imported under the terms of others, section 7). The route and everything in it can be seen and passed on by others, so leave out anything you want to keep private, such as a start at your home.
- Reports and removal. Riders can report a gallery route, a gallery collection or its publisher. Every report is reviewed by us; a route or collection reported by several established riders independently of each other is hidden until we have looked at it. Reports are limited per rider. We may hide or delete any gallery route or collection and any shared route or collection, stop a rider from publishing to the gallery and hide all their gallery routes and collections, and cancel any group ride, without notice, if we believe it breaks these terms or the law, or to protect riders. If you believe content in AddStride is illegal or infringes your rights, write to support@addstride.com with the link and the reason; we will look at it promptly and tell you what we decided.
- We may change, limit or end these features (section 9).
4c. Partner program
Dealers, clubs and influencers can take part in our partner program. A partner receives a share of the revenue from riders who signed up with the partner's code, for a limited time. Partners take part under a separate written agreement with us; these terms do not govern that relationship. For riders nothing changes: you pay the same price, and the partner receives totals, not individual rider records. Small totals may allow inferences about a rider the partner knows (see the privacy policy).
5. Purchases and Google Play
All purchases in the app are made through Google Play Billing and are subject to Google Play's terms. Google handles payment, VAT and receipts. Prices are shown in your local currency in the app; the price you see at the time of purchase is the price you pay.
6. Refunds and right of withdrawal
- Refunds for credit packs and subscriptions are requested through Google Play (Play Store › Payments and subscriptions › Budget and history › the order › Request a refund, or https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637). Google's refund policy applies. If Google asks us, we will confirm whether the credits were used.
- Consumers may have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Exceptions for immediately supplied digital content apply only where the legally required express consent, acknowledgement and confirmation have been obtained; accepting these terms alone does not waive that right. Rights for digital services and subscriptions depend on the service supplied and applicable law. You can always stop future subscription renewals as described in section 4. Contact us or Google Play to exercise a statutory right; these terms do not limit mandatory consumer remedies.
- If a purchase is refunded or charged back, the corresponding credits are removed from your balance. If they were already spent, the balance becomes negative until you add credits.
7. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use the app while it is unsafe to do so, or in breach of traffic law.
- Create several accounts, use modified apps, emulators, scripts, faked positions or other means to obtain free credits, ad rewards or promo-code or invite credits you are not entitled to, or to circumvent limits.
- Sell, buy or trade promo codes or invite codes.
- Share, publish or put in a group ride anything that breaks the content rules in section 4b, or report gallery routes falsely or to harm other riders.
- Use the AI gateway for anything other than the app's own features, or attempt to use it as a general-purpose AI proxy.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app or the gateway except where the law allows it.
- Upload content to cloud storage or the assistant that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights or contains malicious code.
- Share, publish or resell trail data (for example Trans Euro Trail GPX files) that you imported under someone else's terms. The app keeps such files on your phone and in your own cloud storage only.
- Interfere with the service or other users.
We may suspend or close an account, remove credits obtained in breach of these terms and refuse service if you break them.
8. Navigation disclaimer: you are responsible
Riding a motorcycle, especially off tarmac, is dangerous. AddStride is a planning aid, not a substitute for your own judgement, and it does not know the actual state of a road or track.
- Map, road and surface data come from OpenStreetMap and other public sources and can be wrong, out of date or incomplete. Roads may be closed, gated, private, flooded, washed out, snowed in or not exist. Speed limits shown may be wrong. Traffic information may be late or missing.
- Routes that use gravel and forest tracks, including "Track grade" 3 to 5 and anything the assistant suggests, are computed from map tags, not inspected. We give no warranty that any route, and in particular any off-road or gravel route, is passable, legal, safe or suitable for you, your bike or the conditions on the day.
- The AI assistant produces suggestions from a language model. They can be wrong, invented or unsuitable. Check every proposal before you ride it.
- Routes from the route gallery, shared routes and group-ride routes are made by other riders, partners or others, and we do not check them. Ratings, saves and descriptions are other riders' opinions, not our recommendation.
- Automatic navigation start, automatic ride recording, voice guidance and the dashboard cast are conveniences that can fail or behave unexpectedly.
- You are always responsible for where and how you ride: obey signs, traffic law, land access rules, closed gates and the instructions of authorities, keep your eyes on the road, do not operate the phone while moving, and turn around when a route looks wrong. Positioning depends on your phone's GPS and can be inaccurate.
9. Availability
The offline features of the Android app work without network. The web planner, online route planning, the assistant, cloud storage, ads, purchases, sign-in, online map tiles, place search and live traffic depend on our servers and third-party services that may be unavailable, slow or changed at any time. We aim for good availability but do not guarantee it, and we may change, limit or discontinue online features. If we permanently discontinue cloud storage we will give you at least 3 months to download your data. Back up important routes with GPX export.
10. Your content
You keep all rights to the routes, rides, POIs, conversations and pictures you create or upload. You give us the right to store, copy and process them to provide the service (sync, export, assistant requests) and nothing else. You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.
When you share a route, publish it to the gallery or put it in a group ride (on its own or in a route collection), you also give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide right to show it publicly in the app and on our websites (the route line on a map and the figures and text that go with it; for the gallery, the published copy described in section 4b) for as long as it is shared, published or the group ride exists, and you allow everyone who can see it to save a copy, use it and ride it for their own non-commercial purposes. Copies already saved remain after you remove the route.
11. Third-party data and software
The app includes open-source software (BRouter, MapLibre and others) and open data (OpenStreetMap under ODbL, Natural Earth). Their licences are listed in the app under Help › About. Map tiles, place search and routing data downloads use third-party services under their own terms.
12. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data that you have not backed up, or any damage arising from riding a route planned, suggested or navigated with AddStride, from wrong map data, or from unavailability of online features. Our total liability for direct loss is limited to the amount you paid us during the 12 months before the event. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory consumer law, including liability for personal injury caused by our negligence.
13. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. Material changes are announced in the app or on this page at least 30 days before they apply. If you continue to use the app after that, the new terms apply. If you do not accept them, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
14. Termination
You can stop using the app or the web planner and delete your account at any time (Settings › Account › Delete account and cloud data in the app, the delete-account option in the Account panel of the web planner, or https://addstride.com/delete-account). Deleting the account removes your credits and cloud data, your shared route and collection links, your gallery routes and collections and the group rides you organised, and does not cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel that in Google Play. We may terminate the agreement with 30 days' notice, or immediately if you breach section 7.
15. Law and disputes
Swedish law applies. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also have the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Disputes can be brought before the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN, https://www.arn.se, Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm), or the ordinary courts.
